La Plantation located in Mananjary, on the South East coast of Madagascar, is an agro-tourist concept of first quality in a unique environment. La Plantation produces Pink Pepper. A very fine food flavour, the pink pepper imparts a peppery and slightly sweet flavour to the dish. It is newly used in gastronomy where it goes very well with fish and seafood. The pink pepper berries are pink in colour and are manually harvested

 

Processing of Pink Pepper:

To preserve the aroma and the taste of the spice, it has to undergo rigorous processes before it is ready for the market. The Pink Pepper is harvested from April to June by highly skilled female workers both on the domain and national collection sites. Then comes the rigorous operations of sorting, drying and packaging.

The pink pepper is put through a lot of processes before it reaches us in the form that it does.
